Some Skin Treatment Favorites

***I do want to preface I am not a dermatologist and not a skincare expert, all the products linked and that I use, are ones that have worked for me. ***

When we first started our quarantine journey back in March, I started seeing these posts of people’s skin improving from not wearing makeup. I did not see these changes to my skin simply from not applying foundation… While I wasn’t seeing any additional breakouts, my cheeks redness had accelerated from 6 to 10 and my skin still appeared dull and droopy.

Since I now had all this time I decided to take a deep dive into my skin. Implementing this new skincare regime also gave me a semblance of routine, and during this unknown time in our lives routine, I discovered, plays an important role in my everyday life to keep me motivated.

I can do a more in-depth post on my actual updated skincare routine, because since my last post back in September things have changed slightly. However, my biggest take away from my deep dive into the wonders of my clogged pores, is that masking is a huge part of my daily and nightly face care experience. I have listed below my favorite masks I have been using this past month, which includes what I love about them and the improvements I saw.

Khiel’s Detox Clay Mask:

  • Great to use in the morning before applying makeup for a clean canvas, or at night if I feel a breakout coming in

  • my skin feels very matte and clean after using this mask

  • Not over drying and pores have a fresh tightness

  • When used consistently, I start to see noticeable changes to my skins texture but when I use once a month I don’t see as quick of an improvement

Asarai Australian Red Clay Mask:

  • Prefer this in the morning to give me a brighter, more even complexion.

  • Noticeable difference in my skin after use, skin looking more even and clean.

  • A little goes a long way with this product

The Organic Pharmacy Jasmine and Honey Hydrating Mask:

  • I have a small size of this and I love it.

  • Fragrance smells really good, but not overpowering.

  • Skin feels incredibly soft after one use and plump.

  • Less redness on cheeks from extra hydration

  • I notice a difference in my skin immediately after use

Tula Overnight Treatment:

  • I wake up with dewy and plump skin and my redness calms down significantly

  • Easy to sleep in

  • I use two to three times a week and have noticed improvements the next day, but consistency is key

Vichy exfoliating mask:

  • Very gentle and skin feels tight and clean after use.

  • I like the mask application for an exfoliant and I will put on before the shower and use the steam and warm water to scrub and invigorate my pores

  • This is also available at Target

Arcona Cranberry Exfoliator:

  • Super gentle and has a great smell

  • Skins feels clean and super soft after use
